Here at Tyabb Village Children's Centre we commit to providing each child with a nutritionally balanced meal for lunch each day, along with a healthy and fun snack for morning and afternoon tea. We encourage flood exploration with the children, encouraging them to taste new foods and to teach them an understanding of how to make healthy choices for our bodies.

Below is a sample of the menu we provide here at TVCC. (menus are reviewed regularly and family recipes are encouraged)

For the second year running, we have entered these prestigious awards in the category of Child Care/School Canteen. These azwards attract a range of nominees from across the Peninsula including Toorak College and The Peninsula School.

In our first attempt at Best Bites (2017), the award was granted to Toorak College and we as a finalist, gained a well earned distinction along with the drive to yet again better our menu for 2018. This year we were nominated once again for this prestigious award and we are proud to annouce that we were the winners of the 2018 Best Bites Award, here on the Mornington Peninsula.

This award is a tribute to all of us here at the Village, as a number of our programs contribute to our amazing menu - Our kitchen garden, indigenous edible garden and our animal program/care, including our wonderful chickens who provide our mornings eggs. In addition to our healthy menu, we liaise with a local nutritionist Loren (from Inner Grin). Loren reviews all of our menu ideas and helps us ensure that the children are getting well balanced and nutritionally thought out daily meals, giving their little bodies the maximum benefit for their day.

At Tyabb VIllage we are continuously striving to improve the nutrition for the children and many of our recipes are now finding their way into our family homes for their meal times, this futher reinforces our commitment to children's health and wellbeing.
